Odds & Ends (3/27/08) Retraction

Filed Under (Odds & Ends) by Heather Loy on 29-03-2008

FYI, I recommended the Adobe Photoshop Express without having actually tried it out. I wasn’t able to create an account from my school computer and I’m still not sure why. I was able to create an account on my Macbook. However, I’m since retracting my recommendation of the service for two reasons. One, it doesn’t allow you to edit your photos any more than other free online photo editing services. I uploaded a picture, and while I could play around with tinting and add a few effects such as skew, swirl, and others, there was nothing to really rave about.

Secondly, please read the following post on the Assorted Stuff Blog entiltled “Not Reading the Fine Print” who got the information from Wired.com “Photoshop Express: All Your Images Are Belong To Us.” I’m as guilty as the next guy for not reading through ALL of the end user software licensing fine print. Needless to say, I too will be taking a pass at using Photoshop Express for the moment.
