About the Blog

Tech Tips & Timely Tidbits started out as a replacement for a paper newsletter called “Tech Tuesdays” aimed at providing the teachers at Wagener-Salley High School with information about technology, new materials, and the sharing of ideas.  It has since become a personal/professional blog for me to share my thoughts and interests with whomever wishes to visit!

About Me

My name is Heather Loy and I am a library media specialist at Wagener-Salley High School, Wagener, South Carolina (USA).  I’ve been in the “book biz” for longer than I’d care to admit: 12 years working for various bookstores; three years as a substitute at the Richland County Public Library; and six years as an associate team member for Palmetto GBA/BCBS or SC as a Medicare Secondary Payer Team Member (while also working as a bookseller and substitute!)  I soon came to realize that insurance wasn’t my forte, and that working three jobs just to make ends meet was ridiculous, so I enrolled in the College of Library and Information Science at USC and now work at WSHS since 2002!
